PROJECT DESCRIPTION


This clock app is a responsive web application that displays accurate local times for multiple global locations. Built using advanced JavaScript concepts including timing events, date formatting, and timezone conversions— it integrates an external API to fetch real-time date, time, and timezone data. Select elements allow users to quickly choose locations and customize their view. The app demonstrates proficiency in asynchronous data handling, DOM manipulation, and API integration, all while maintaining a clean, intuitive interface.

GOAL


The aim of this project was to create a functional yet visually engaging application that not only provides accurate global time information but also serves as a practical showcase of advanced JavaScript capabilities. The project highlights proficiency in handling dynamic date/time data, working with multiple time zones, and designing an interface that feels approachable, consistent, and user-friendly.



UI/DESIGN


The design features a soft, airy aesthetic, anchored by a #E8F5Fd gradient background that evokes the calmness of a clear sky. Three main CSS containers are arranged to form a cloud shape, reinforcing the concept of "time in the clouds" and adding visual personality to the app. Typography choices include Google Font Nunito for general text—set in various weights with the H1 at a bold 900 for emphasis—and Bitcount Grid Single for the time display, giving a digital clock feel. This pairing blends round, friendly text with a modern, grid-like numeric style, creating a cohesive balance between playfulness and precision.



SUMMARY OF PROJECT


This project demonstrates the ability to combine advanced JavaScript functionality with thoughtful UI/UX design. By integrating real-time API data, managing dynamic updates with JS timing events, and ensuring compatibility across time zones, the app delivers accurate and reliable information in a visually inviting format. The result is a practical tool with a polished presentation, reflecting both technical expertise and design sensibility.
